The Orange Fire Department located in North Central Massachusetts was established in 1833 with its first Chief Engineer, Rodney Hunt. The Orange Fire Department is a Combination Department consisting of eleven full time employees (Fire Chief, Deputy Fire Chief, (3) Shift Captains and (6) Firefighters) and twenty-five on call officers and firefighters. The Department operates (3) Fire Engines, (1) Aerial Ladder, (1) Tender, and multiple support apparatus. In addition to proudly providing fire protection to the citizens of Orange, the Department also provides Paramedic level ambulance service to Orange and also the Towns of Erving, New Salem, Warwick, and Wendell. The Department operates four ambulances (3 class I, and 1 Class 5).
